catching up

Being a Gemini, communication is supposed to be one of my strong points. To some degree it is….I can talk your leg off. However, when it comes to writing I struggle with every word. Quite possibly because with the written word you don’t get the tone of voice or my hand gestures (yes I talk with my hands). :) Anyway, I just wanted to say thank you for the great comments on my polymer what? post.

I’ve been playing catch up after being sick. One project was several different animal print pandora beads. After conditioning and mixing lots of clay and making canes, my shoulder was hurting. Not for the first time, so I broke down and ordered a motor for my pasta machine.

I had a moments hesitation when I first started it up. Flashback to helping my Grandma with the laundry. She had an old washer with an electric wringer, which quite honestly scared the hell out me. I forged ahead though and am happy to say I’m thrilled with the motor.

I also bought the foot petal. After years of sewing I knew it would be a natural fit. My 15 year old son came in to tell me something while I was mixing some clay. He asked how it (the motor) knew that I was putting clay into it. He didn’t know about the foot petal under the desk and that I was turning it on as I fed clay into it. Maybe I shouldn’t have told him and left him guessing.
