Don’t fall out of your chairs….yes, I’m posting 2 days in a row.
A couple months ago my friend, Vonna, and I were discussing copper electroformed beads because she had recently bought the equipment to do it. After some research, I learned that it can be done on polymer clay beads. I’m guessing that the reason I don’t see electroformed polymer beads is because of the cost of the equipment. Anyway, I was supposed to send her some beads to experiment with, but haven’t got that done yet. Yes, I need to work on my time management skills.
Anyway, a few weeks ago, Vonna emailed me about my “new” beads and how did I get the copper on them. I have to admit to being stumped at the time. There’s no copper on any of my beads. Some of my floral canes are outlined in gold, but I was confused. Then it dawned on me what she was talking about….this focal bead.

So, I started experimenting on some beads that were sitting around. I’m not quite where I want to be, but am having fun with the process. So, here’s some of my experiments with faux copper electroformed beads. I’m going for the antiqued textured look.

Wow, more beautiful beads…looking goood Chris!
