If you go outside please rapidly shuffle past all power lines, wires in the air and trees. I don't remember ice storms in eastern Oregon but we sure did have what was called a "silver thaw" that pretty much amounts to the same thing. Snow and icicles melted and then a hard freeze. As a kid I remember an inch or two of ice on top of 4-6 feet of snow. We used to tunnel under the ice and in general had a great time. Because of all the hazardous roads the school buses couldn't run so NO SCHOOL!!! Never did we have a clue of all the danger that was created for the adults. So please be extra careful when you venture outside. Hope you stay warm also. This is a nasty time for your community to experience such a PITA. With everyone having to travel to and from work plus want to do their Christmas shopping. Golly it must horrid not knowing if your power will be on or not. Oh my, please be safe!
