love/hate relationship

Ok, I admit it. I have a love/hate relationship with custom orders. Well, hate is a pretty strong word, more of a dislike. It’s really one of those instances where I’m my own worst enemy kind of thing. Many of the things I make are done in multiple steps. Normally I do a step and move on to something else and come back to it later. When it’s a custom order, I don’t feel like I should be working on anything but the custom order. Weird, I know.

On the other hand, I love custom orders. Many of them have required me to step outside my comfort zone and have led to some great discoveries. Sometimes, it’s as simple as requesting something I’ve already made in a different color, or even black and white.

I recently had a request for a geometric pendant to be made similar to this one…

…but in black and white…

…which has me thinking about grayscale. Now, I’m really wanting to make a gradient black to white pendant. However, it will have to wait until I finish a couple other custom orders. LOL!
