In case you haven’t heard, there’s a new place to sell your handmade goods. Art Fire is a relatively new site that sounds very promising. You can register as a Basic User for free. This includes having up to 10 items for sale with no listing or final sales fees. Right now you can sign up as a Verified User for $7.00 a month for life, with no other listing or final sales fees.
Here’s the promising part – (from the Art Fire website)
“We’ll we’re planning on spending 7-10 million dollars on advertising in the next 12 months. We’ve already bought the back cover of craft magazine for the next two years and purchased over 2 million views of ArtFire ads on websites ranging from Facebook to Mother Jones magazine in the first week of November! We will continue to buy advertising and increase that budget every month for you.”

Well, I think one of the biggest problem with Etsy is the lack of advertising. So many people haven’t even heard of it.
Sounds like a great place to list…will have to try it out!

I am so hoping that Art Fire does well. I agree with you Chris about Etsy, a huge lack of advertising.
The sites that I am on that cost more do advertise and the sales prove it.
