Regardless of who you voted for, there is no doubt that this was a historical election. It was also the first time my 19 year old daughter was eligible to vote in a major election. I was very proud that she went to vote and had informed opinions about the candidates.
I didn’t vote based on a candidate’s color of skin, but who I felt was the best for our country and failing economy. So, it really just hit me this morning, how significant this is. Our country has elected a black man as president. I wasn’t sure that I would ever see that happen in my life time. It does give me hope that we may someday see a woman president in the white house.
After all the negative ads, I also have to comment on how impressed I was with the gracious speeches given by both candidates.
Well said. No matter what our political affiliations, we are all Citizens. I, for one, will continue to act accordingly. Take care.
Thanks Susan!
